Four detached dwellings approved in the kent downs AONB

Bloomfields prides itself on being able to offer professional and impartial advice. However, this is not to say that the firm is not at the cutting edge when it comes to decisive planning issues and precedential cases. The firm very often seeks to challenge the accepted planning principles of an area and has, for example, been involved in many successful appeals in relation to agricultural permitted development rights which have proved to be precedential.

Most recently Bloomfields has been able to persuade the Planning Inspectorate that a Council’s adoption of a Local Plan with adequate housing supply, even if the site is also designated as an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, should not be sufficient to refuse planning permission for new houses. In this appeal case (where the site also formed part of a designated Strategic Gap), the Inspector has agreed with Bloomfields that where there would not be harm to the character and appearance of the area, a departure from the Council’s Local Plan policies can be justified.

Talk to Bloomfields as to how you might be able to shape how your Council perceives what constitutes sustainable development in your area.
