Gary is a Chartered member of the Royal Town Planning Institute. Having completed a bachelors degree in Geography with Tourism, Gary spent seven years progressing through the ranks as a Planning Officer at Tunbridge Wells Borough Council working on a variety of planning applications. Gary has also completed an RTPI-accredited Masters degree in Planning Policy and Practice. Gary was asked to join the Bloomfields team in 2014. In his approach to work, Gary combines an acute understanding of legislation and planning policy with the procedural requirements of Councils.

SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelors degree in Geography with Tourism at Canterbury Christchurch University.
  • Masters degree in Planning Policy and Practice at London South Bank University.
  • Chartered Member of the Royal Town Planning Institute.
  • Gary has attended and presented at Planning Committees for and against the Council. He has also defended and challenged appeals from both sides of the fence.
  • Gary is a meticulous planner driven by results. He takes pride in being at the fore-front of interpreting legislative changes, most notably permitted development rights.

UNDER THE SPOTLIGHT

  • Whilst at Tunbridge Wells Borough Council (TWBC), Gary dealt with several high-profile planning applications as a Planning Officer, covering a vast array of schemes from residential to commercial, from the construction of care homes to the erection of large-scale cold stores.
  • He represented TWBC and the Development Management department during two major corporate changes.
  • Gary has been Bloomfields lead consultant in dealing with the conversion of buildings to dwellings. He has worked closely with Lambert & Foster’s agency department to generate onward sale of such properties at significantly increased values

PERSONAL

  • Keen footballer playing at a competitive standard and takes pride in having scored in the first round proper of the FA Cup!
  • Enjoys travelling and reading and, whilst not known for his cooking skills, Gary can sometimes be found making oat cookies with his three young daughters
