Permitted Development maximised to enable Change of Use of Agricultural Barn to Cricket School

Having successfully regularised other cricket related uses on site, out clients were approached by a local Cricket School seeking additional indoor training space. After reviewing the available options, Bloomfields identified that permitted development rights allowed for the conversion of a large, underutilised agricultural barn on site into an indoor sports facility.

Bloomfields were subsequently instructed to prepare a Prior Approval application for the proposed change of use, which would see the building fitted out with changing rooms and indoor cricket nets. Working closely with specialist consultants where necessary, we demonstrated that the new use would not give rise to unacceptable impacts in respect of highways, noise, contamination, or flood risk.

Prior approval was granted, enabling a new community focused cricket school to come forward to support grass roots cricket in the local area.
