After University you no doubt want to be embark on a career that is financially rewarding, academically supportive (helping you to achieve RTPI and/or RICS status), mentally stimulating and above all, enjoyable.
In a graduate role with Bloomfields you will shadow a Director or Senior Associate on site visits to assess the potential on sites for development and to consider constraints. You will be required to set out project briefs to consultants (ecologists, highway consultants, acoustic engineers, heritage consultants etc) and work with our internal drawing team to develop ideas. In time you will manage the delivery of consultants’ reports and provide regular progress reports to team leaders. You will undertake extensive levels of research to identify site designations, planning histories and applicable local and national policies that will inform the preparation for applications. We will ask you to help form reasoned arguments for justifying development. With the guidance and direction of senior team members you will draft planning statements and prepare applications for submission. You may be involved in the promotion of sites, may be required to attend committee meetings (and once experienced enough, deliver committee presentations) and you may also be required to assist in appeal work. You will monitor the progress of applications initially reporting to project managers and then clients directly. As your confidence and ability develop, we will encourage you to manage your own caseloads. We will support you in your RTPI and/or RICS studies, offering you internal and external mock interviews and study leave prior to your external examination.
Depending on your background, qualifications and interest there may also be the opportunity to work with other departments in Lambert & Foster (see www.lambertandfoster.co.uk) to broaden your knowledge and experience.
