Sustainable Irrigation Scheme: Reservoir Lagoon and Irrigation Infrastructure for Soft Fruit Production
We successfully secured planning permission for an onsite irrigation reservoir and associated infrastructure to support the long-term sustainability and operational resilience of the farm. The development provides a reliable water source for soft fruit production, helping to improve water security during periods of low rainfall and increasing pressure on agricultural water resources.
The scheme was carefully designed to integrate within the wider agricultural setting while delivering the infrastructure necessary to support modern and efficient farming practices. By enabling the storage and management of water onsite, the project supports a more sustainable approach to irrigation and reduces reliance on seasonal water availability.
This project was delivered alongside a related application for an agricultural irrigation building, with both developments forming part of a coordinated irrigation strategy for the holding. Together, the reservoir and supporting infrastructure create an integrated irrigation system designed to enhance productivity, support crop quality, and provide long-term resilience for the farming enterprise and its continued soft fruit production.
