On farm facilities have been provided for circa 100 workers to assist with an extensive top fruit farming operation. This includes a recreation hall for staff ‘down time’, amenity block for doing laundry and for 24 mobile units offering modern self-contained living quarters. In order to achieve this Bloomfields had to set out a comprehensive planning case whilst also seeking to demonstrate all the usual matters in terms of ecology, highways, landscape, noise impact and drainage but to name a few were acceptable. Onward negotiation was required with the Council to complete legal agreements that ensured necessary financial contributions toward ‘bird mitigation’ and the local footpath network. Bloomfields has also successfully negotiated conditions relating to ecology, landscape and electricity charging points.
