Appeal allowed for infill development of a modest executive home

A planning application was refused for a new home on the outskirts of Bearsted on the basis that it would harm the openness of the area and the character of the countryside. Bloomfields was instructed to manage an appeal against the Council’s decision. The Inspector was persuaded that the proposal would represent sustainable development and it was also demonstrated that the local planning policies referenced by the Council were outdated and so should be attributed limited weight. The appeal has now been allowed and a new home can be constructed on this greenfield site.
