Bloomfields has helped a client secure planning approval for an agricultural building in the Sussex countryside. The site, once a hayfield, now forms part of a thriving and expanding vineyard.
While some nearby residents raised concerns about the size of the new barn, Bloomfields confirmed that the planning authority granted approval.
The permission allows the barn to remain exactly as built, including the side extensions, external materials, doors and openings, and the surrounding concrete areas.
Permission had previously been granted for a smaller 10m x 5m barn. As the vineyard grew, the client identified the need for additional space and constructed a larger 30m x 5m barn, which required a retrospective planning application.
Bloomfields led the client through this process and successfully obtained approval, ensuring the barn can remain in place and continue supporting the vineyard’s operations.
