As per the committee vote, a decision was made to defer making any decisions on either of the two options suggested to them by the Inspectorate in favour of undertaking additional ‘high level modelling’ of Junction 6 of the M25. The meeting held therefore expects the additional highway modelling to take a further 3 months, consequently taking them to the point of a decision in terms of replying to the inspector. In order to carry on work they must get the Planning Inspectorates vote.
Concluding, Tandridge Local Plan is effectively paused due to requiring significant highway infrastructure spending which they cannot undertake alone without the County Council and most likely Highways England’s financial support.
The likely continued absence of a Local Plan could potentially have implications for sites within the Tandridge district.
