Sam joined Bloomfields at the start of 2024 as planning consultant, having spent the previous 13 years working at Tonbridge and Malling Borough Council in the Development Control team in which 7 of those years were as a Planning Enforcement Officer. Sam is an Affiliate Member of the Royal Town Planning Institute.
UNDER THE SPOTLIGHT
Whilst at Tonbridge and Malling Borough Council (TMBC), Sam gained knowledge by investigating a wide range of cases across the District and has experience in dealing with complex enforcement issues including those within the Metropolitan Green Belt, designated National Landscapes and cases that have progressed to the Crown Courts and The Royal Courts of Justice.
During his time spent as a Planning Enforcement Officer, Sam has developed an astute understanding of Planning Legislation and Policies which has been put into practice since joining the private sector and has resulted in Sam successfully obtaining grants of planning permission and assisting senior members of the team with major planning applications and appeals.
Sam aspires to become an Associate Member of the RTPI and to continue his professional development.
