Consultation on the Wealden Local Plan ended on the 8th October 2018 and the Council is now in the process of compiling the representations received.

Of interest to many of us are the comments received from Natural England, in particular, the comments which refer to the Council’s assessment of the potential impacts from development on the Ashdown Forest throughout the Plan period.  Wealden District Council now has to consider the position of Natural England before making final decisions on planning applications and the final submission of the Plan.  This will be a further disappointment to many who have applications currently on hold, and who must either wait again for the Council to confirm it is able to determine these applications (and therefore whether it intends to proceed with the Plan in its current form); or, consider an appeal for non-determination.
