Conversion of Vacant Commercial Space to Residential Approved

Our clients are in the process of redeveloping a dilapidated former industrial estate into a high-quality, residential-led mixed use development in south-west London. During the construction process, following an exhaustive marketing campaign, it became apparent that there was no demand for the office space that was originally approved within the development. Working closely with our clients, we put forward a case that demonstrated to the Local Planning Authority that the change of use of the vacant office space to provide additional residential apartments, including affordable housing to assist with a significant shortfall in the Borough, was the most appropriate use for the space and planning permission was subsequently granted.
