Farm diversification to Equestrian

Bloomfields’ client was looking to diversify part of their working fruit farm by making use of a redundant farm building. Bloomfields were able to obtain planning permission to extend and convert a former cold store to provide 10 stables for a commercial livery use.

The application also included a change of use of agricultural land adjacent to the stables to provide a 60m x 20m all-weather outdoor sand school.

By working in tandem with the client and Local Planning Authority, Bloomfield were able to demonstrate the need for the sand school to be floodlit to support the commercial equestrian use of the farm.
