Modernisation of Top Fruit Farm

Bloomfields has obtained planning permission for the permanent siting and seasonal occupation of 9 mobile homes, the conversion of a redundant agricultural building to create a farm manager’s dwelling and office alongside the conversion of a Dutch barn to provide a recreation hall for the farm workers.

Despite the site’s location within and adjacent to the Conservation Area, the Council recognised the thorough agricultural justification for the development that was provided by Bloomfields. The application was called into planning committee due to substantial local objection. The scheme was approved by the Councillors who recognised the improvements to the business and requirements to support home grown local produce which in turn would improve farm workers welfare.
