Bloomfields has planning permission for the retrospective retention of a large area of earth works and an extension to an existing timber processing yard.
Bloomfields were first involved upon receipt and information that the yard had been extended without the benefit of planning permission within the Green Belt and enforcement proceedings were being drawn up by the enforcement officer.
Through a rapid site meeting and in-depth discussions with both the enforcement officer and the planning department, Bloomfields was able to negotiate a position of being able to submit a retrospective planning application, within a very tight timeframe, to formalise the development.
This timeframe included the full planning submission as well as a comprehensive suite of drawings from our architectural team to demonstrate the development could be assimilated into the green belt though a well thought out scheme as well as a comprehensive landscaping strategy.
The application took some time to be approved as there were ongoing amendments required throughout the process to ensure the application could be made acceptable and which were pleasingly approved, subject to further tight timeframes to ensure the landscaping was undertaken rapidly after approval.
The permission ensured the yard could continue operating and the client was not required to spend tens of thousands of pounds reinstating the yard to its original condition.
