The much-anticipated Draft Local Plan has now been delivered by Tunbridge Wells Borough Council. It was taken to Cabinet alongside a Sustainability Appraisal on 15th August 2019.
The Local Plan draft is a strategic document that will help guide future development across the borough to 2036. Headlines from the Draft Local Plan include a new garden village at Tudeley, major housing development at Paddock Wood and Capel as well as further housing developments in Hawkhurst and Cranbrook to fulfil the requirement of 13,560 homes over the plan period.
The Draft Local Plan will be going out for consultation from the 20th September 2019 to 1st November 2019, which gives an excellent opportunity to either promote your site for further development, question an allocation or policy which has the potential to impact upon your local area or question one of their general policies. For expert advice and guidance on this, Bloomfields can help and ensure sites are submitted onto the Council’s Brownfield Register or the Self Build and Custom Housebuilding Register.
