Information concerning the current v future strategy for housing numbers makes for interesting reading. The TWBC Core Strategy Development plan stated a need for 6000 homes to be supplied at a rate of 300 homes per year. This will soon be superseded by the new Local Plan 2013-33 which is forecast to increase this number to 12,960, a rate of 648 homes per year to 2033. Whilst the Core Strategy document supported maintaining the status quo for existing employment, the new Local Plan (adoption forecast in 2018) will call for 11-15 hectares of new business space for the promotion of 10,000 new jobs. We think it is fair to say there is certainly opportunity out there.
The Call for Sites was open from February to September 2016, with 270 submissions to date. These come in a variety of shapes, sizes, locations and uses, and will be considered in terms of availability, suitability and viability for proposed development.
We anticipate that further sites will still be required, and to this end we would welcome the opportunity to assist you in promoting these to TWBC.
