Conversion of Agricultural Building to Dwelling Approved in High Weald AONB and Green Belt

Bloomfields were approached to convert an outbuilding and horse shelter on the applicant’s land to a future home for them to live in. The team were able to successfully design a scheme which included an increased roof height and reduced floor levels internally, while justifying that the proposal would still constitute a conversion and is sensitively designed to respect the character of the existing building and minimize and where possible enhance the setting of the AONB through an associated landscaping scheme.

Working closely with Tunbridge Wells Borough Council, we demonstrated that the residential conversion was wholly appropriate and obtained an approval.
