Bloomfields recently obtained planning permission for a rural diversification project involving the provision of new holiday accommodation. From the outset we understood that the re-use of existing buildings would be more acceptable than the erection of new buildings in the countryside, subsequently identifying a building with potential for conversion.
Our architectural services team then produced an attractive design which included working with the size and footprint of the existing building, the re-use of as much of the current building fabric as possible and a high-quality landscaping scheme to provide visual and ecological enhancement at the site.
Working closely with colleagues in our Lambert & Foster valuation team, we also presented information to the Council that demonstrated how our client would be adversely affected by a reduction in farming subsidies post-Brexit and how diversification through the provision of two modest self-contained units of holiday accommodation would generate supplementary income to complement their existing farming activities.
This was a real team effort and demonstrates the breadth of expertise and extent of services that Bloomfields and Lambert & Foster can provide.
