Major Residential Development Approved

Bloomfields is delighted to have successfully secured outline planning permission for a major residential development comprising 44 market and affordable dwellings. Having been instructed at the project conception stage, Bloomfields worked closely with our client and architectural team throughout extensive pre-application discussion, attendance at community engagement events and subsequent preparation, submission and negotiation of the planning application, through to a decision.

Key to the decision was demonstrating to the Local Planning Authority that, whilst the site was partially allocated for residential development, incorporating a larger area to include land originally proposed to be retained for allotments or agricultural use allowed for a more cohesive, high-quality development to come forward. This would respond more appropriately to the context of the site, delivering a significant uplift in public open space and structural landscaping. Much more than would have been achievable within the defined allocation boundary and thereby ensuring that the development would assimilate successfully with the existing adjoining settlement, whilst responding positively to the location within the Kent Downs National Landscape.
