Bloomfields is delighted to have secured planning permission on behalf of Kent County Council and Morgan Sindall Construction for the construction of a 1 Form-Entry extension to Lenham Primary School, which will increase capacity from 210 to 420 pupils to accommodate demand arising from local population growth. Bloomfields worked closely with the consultant team, undertook detailed pre-application discussions with Planning Officers and attended a public consultation event prior to submission.
During the course of the application, Bloomfields also provided a robust response to an objection from Sport England, setting out the wider public benefits of the application in meeting educational need, which clearly outweighed the modest loss of a small area of informal playing field which was not used by the public for sports provision and would have resulted in no material loss of playing pitch provision in the Maidstone Borough. Officers agreed with these conclusions and following referral to the Secretary of State to ratify their recommendation, we are delighted that planning permission has now been granted.
