Prior approval was sought for the construction of an irrigation reservoir to provide 6 million gallons of water storage over an area of 1.1ha. After considering the agricultural justification and reasoning for providing the reservoir in that location, Swale Borough Council granted prior approval for the additional reservoir including all construction works. The approved reservoir has been designed to occupy an area to the south of the existing reservoir, following the topography of the land with the toe of the existing and proposed reservoirs being tied in to each other.
